Colts vs Broncos Preview Week 2: Keys to Victory & Predictions

What a rush! The Indianapolis Colts absolutely demolished the Miami Dolphins last week; hopefully, they can keep that same energy for Week 2 against the Denver Broncos. Daniel Jones shocked the crowd with 272 yards and three touchdowns, and lots of angry fans gave him a huge apology and vowed never to doubt him again.

As for the Broncos, they put up a good fight against the Tennessee Titans and came out on top with a final score of 20-12, despite a shaky performance. So, that leads us to the question of who will snatch the win in Week 2.

For the Colts to win, or to at least not let the Broncos have it so easily, they must be precise.

Keys to the Game

Now this one is an obvious answer, but the Colts must try to avoid mistakes. The Broncos’ top cornerback, Patrick Surtain II, can shut down some of the best receivers in the league. If the Colts were to mess up, like dropping the ball, missing blocks, or racking up penalties, it would give the Broncos a chance to swoop in and knock us off our feet.

Furthermore, running back Jonathan Taylor and the offense team will be up against what is ranked #1 in defense after week 1. Taylor must be smart with his runs, and the offensive line will need to help find space and tire the Broncos’ defense out.

As for quarterback Daniel Jones, he’ll need to focus on the ball and not give it away easily. One bad throw or fumble could change the direction of the entire game. If the Colts let Jones be a playmaker by mixing in some QB runs or letting him move around, it’ll keep the Broncos defense guessing.

Prediction

With that said, I do believe this will be another close game for the Colts, but I also said that last time. Hopefully, they can shock fans again and prove themselves to the league as more than an underdog. My prediction is that this will be nothing short of an anxiety-inducing, close game, with the Colts coming out with another win.

Colts 23, Broncos 20
