NFL Week 2: Colts 2-0 for the first time in 16 seasons

Being a Colts fan has never felt so good. For the first time since 2009, the Colts are 2-0! I know it is only week 2 of the season, but this has been an unimaginable run for the Colts that I don’t think anyone saw coming. This afternoon’s game could’ve been either team’s win, but the Colts were able to pull through, and the Broncos could be the ones to thank.

With 3 seconds left on the clock at the end of the 4th quarter, Spencer Schrader attempted and missed a 60-yard field goal. The celebrations of Broncos fans filled the stadium until the refs called a penalty. The Broncos were penalized 15 yards for leverage on a field goal. Defensive lineman Dondrea Tillman vaulted himself onto another teammate to try to block the kick. If he had thought about it, he would have realized that a 60-yard field goal is extremely difficult and would’ve been more careful. But, luckily enough for us, those 60 yards turned into 45, and Schrader was able to finish off the game with a Colts win. But luck wasn’t what led the Colts up to that point. Throughout the game, they played with precision and made smart plays.

For starters, Daniel Jones, now often referred to as Daniel Dimes, fearlessly guided the team and played brilliant football. Jones totaled 316 yards, one touchdown, and zero turnovers. He helped the Colts take control of the game.

The defense team made clutch plays in key moments. Cam Bynum intercepted a pass in the 4th quarter, which halted the Broncos in what could have been a scoring chance. Zaire Franklin and E.J. Speed also delivered crucial third downs, holding the Broncos to just 4-of-10 conversions.

On the offense side, the Colts worked hard to knock the Broncos' defense off its feet. Jonathan Taylor took over with 165 rushing yards and 1 receiving touchdown. The offensive line held up under pressure, allowing only one sack. Rookie Jamari Gaines also made a 35-yard catch, helping the team make a second-half score. And to add, the Colts' offense is the first team in NFL history to score on their first 10 offensive possessions of the season. Overall, these past 2 weeks have been impressive for the Colts' offense.

For Colts fans, this has been a dream come true, and it just keeps getting better. As I predicted, this game was a complete nail-biter, and at times it got a little too close for comfort, but in the end, they proved themselves and showed they belong. If the Colts keep playing like this, and I pray they do, this season could turn out to be something truly special.
