Cowboys Once Again Embarrassed, Fall to Chargers 34-17
As legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban once said, “they run through our ass like shit through a tin horn, man.”

In now back-to-back-TO-BACK weeks, the Cowboys came out ready to get spanked. In Detroit, we put up a good fight offensively but came up a little short because our defense let up 44 points. Then, against Minnesota, we had a sloppy yet respectable offensive performance, but it wasn’t enough to dig us out of the 34-point hole our defense put us in. And then today, after being eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday when the Eagles beat Washington, we played poorly on both sides of the ball. Luckily for us, our defense stuck to its ability to only LET UP 34 POINTS AGAIN! GREAT WORK, BOYS!
This week, our favorite dumbass Matt Eberflus decided it would be helpful to try to call plays from the booth instead of the sideline. Surely that will be the change our secondary needs to cover anyone, right?
The answer is no. Linebacker Kenneth Murray, in his revenge game (the Chargers drafted him in the first round of the 2020 draft), played nearly every snap as he has all season. The player who is noted on X/Twitter as the most likely to be gambling against his team because he has NO INSTINCTS AT ALL.
Justin Herbert to Ladd McConkey for the TD!

Check out this rep from Omarion Hampton’s 4th quarter touchdown, which was essentially the dagger in this game. Walker, with the long-sleeve white undershirt, stares Hampton down with his feet planted, doesn’t notice the blocker climbing to his level, and gets completely turned the opposite way. IF YOU HAVE A DEFENSIVE BACK BLITZING FROM YOUR SIDE, THAT’S YOUR GAP!!!
I guess it’s not the worst thing losing when we are eliminated for draft pick purposes, but MAN is it frustrating to watch. All year, we have seen Dak Prescott try to play Superman, and this defense can’t get a stop for anything.
Trevon Diggs came back from IR today and looked slower than ever, getting torched on a number of plays, including a wheel route from Ladd McConkey that went for a touchdown. He’s realistically only playing because we have one potentially good corner in rookie Shavon Revel, especially after DaRon Bland went down for the year with another foot injury. It’s fine, though, since he’s been unwatchable as well.
It’s time to set our sights on the offseason. We are likely to win our next two games (@Commanders, @Giants) since they both suck even worse. That would put us at 8-8-1, a decent record for a team allowing 30.27 PPG (according to the Real app).
With two first-round picks and a full offseason to find a defensive coordinator capable of stopping the pass (except vs. the Jets and Raiders), we have a short window.
There will be more to come on what the Cowboys need to do going forward.
