Week 7 Preview: Carolina Panthers Roll Into New York On a Two-Game Win Streak

As the 2025 season rolls into Week seven, the Carolina Panthers (3-3) head to MetLife Stadium to face the winless New York Jets (0-6) in what’s shaping up to be a crucial matchup for both teams. Carolina enters on a two-game winning streak, while the Jets are desperate to find their first victory of the season.

Panthers Finding Their Groove
After a slow 1-3 start, the Panthers have finally found rhythm under head coach Dave Canales. They’ve averaged over 28 points per game during their win streak and totaled 400 total yards in each outing. Running back Rico Dowdle had become a significant spark plug, racking up 239 scrimmage yards against his former team, the Dallas Cowboys. While Dowdle is rushing the world by storm, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is showing better command and ball control during this run, while the chemistry with rookie wideout Tetairoa McMillan is turning heads, and the defense has toughened up against the run, something that will be vital this week.

Jets Searching for Answers
New York’s struggles hit an all-time low in London last week, managing only 82 total yards and –10 net passing yards in the loss to the Denver Broncos. Justin Fields was sacked nine times, and star receiver Garrett Wilson’s knee injury adds more uncertainty for the Jets’ season. The New York defense, however, remains the brightest spot for this squad, especially with Jermaine Johnson returning and Sauce Gardner anchoring the secondary.

Keys to Victory

  • Carolina: Control the clock with Dowdle and protect Bryce Young from the Jets’ relentless pass rush.

  • New York: Force turnovers and allow Fields to get moving outside the pocket to create explosive plays for the offense.

  • X-Factor: The battle in the trenches-whoever wins the line of scrimmage likely wins this game.

Prediction

Panthers 21, Jets 14
