2025 NFL Week 7 Power Rankings

Week 7 Power Rankings

Right now, there isn’t a single team running away with the top spot. The Bucs, Lions, Packers, Rams, Eagles, Bills, and Chiefs all have a real shot at being number one each week. The difference between a true contender and a good-but-flawed team is tiny, so things like red-zone plays, turnovers, and how teams handle the last two minutes are shaping their reputations more than pure talent. The Seahawks and Colts keep pushing into the mix, while the usual favorites swap big wins and surprising losses. In short, these rankings are far from settled, and the top 10 could look very different any week.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) — Tampa Bay sits 5–1, riding an NFC-best start after a 30–19 win over the 49ers in Week 6. Even with a depleted WR room, Baker Mayfield tossed 2 TDs and the defense stacked six sacks and 2 INTs, a formula that’s traveling week to week

  2. Detroit Lions (−1) — Detroit is 4–2 with a +49 point differential and is averaging 31.8 points per game (2nd in the NFL), keeping them firmly in the NFC hunt. In the Week 6 loss at Kansas City (30–17), Jared Goff went 23/29 for 203 yards and 2 TDs.

  3. Green Bay Packers (+6) — Jordan Love looks comfy, and the offense has answers. Green Bay is 3–1–1 with a +29 point differential and sits atop the NFC North heading into Week 7.

  4. Buffalo Bills (−1) — The ceiling is still Super Bowl high. The Bills have lost back-to-back games and have 30 penalties in the last three games. I expect a bounce-back game from Josh Allen after a poor showing on Monday Night Football.

  5. Indianapolis Colts (+3) — Yes, the Colts, led by Daniel Jones, lead the NFL in point differential (78). Both lines are playing well, and Jonathan Taylor is having another incredible year, running for 137 yards against Arizona in week 6.

  6. Los Angeles Rams (+4) — Timely defensive stops, paired with Matthew Stafford leading the NFL in passing, is a recipe for success. The Rams beat a spiraling Ravens team, even with Puka Nacua missing most of the game due to an ankle sprain.

  7. Philadelphia Eagles (−4) — The Eagles have lost back-to-back games after starting 4-0. The offense just hasn’t looked right. Jalen Hurts has struggled to get AJ Brown and Devonta Smith involved, and the defense has had tackling issues, yet it remains one of the most talented teams in the league.

  8. Seattle Seahawks (+9) — Through Week 6, the Seahawks lead the NFL in yards per play (6.3), and Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads the league in receiving yards. The Seahawks sacked Trevor Lawrence 7 times on Sunday, and have 20 on the season.

  9. Pittsburgh Steelers (+4) — The Aaron Rodgers experiment is working so far. Rodgers has the Steelers atop the AFC North at 4-1. The Steelers' pass rush overwhelmed the Browns' rookie on Sunday, sacking him 6 times.

  10. Kansas City Chiefs (+2) — Defense is doing the heavy lifting while the pass game finds its groove. The Chiefs will be the Chiefs when the lights get bright. Sunday night's win over the Lions shows that they are still a top team in the league.

  11. New England Patriots (+3) — Drake Maye is playing like a legit MVP candidate and has the Patriots in first place in the AFC East. Mike Vrabel is the easy favorite for coach of the year to this point.

  12. Denver Broncos (−5) — Denver won a close one against the Jets in London. The defense had nine sacks and bailed out a struggling Bo Nix-led offense. The Broncos have won back-to-back one-score games.

  13. San Francisco 49ers (−7) — Health is the headline, and the injury list got longer in week 6. Fred Warner is out for the season with a dislocated/broken ankle. The 49ers offense moved the ball against the Bucs but settled for field goals. Christian McCaffrey is trying to carry the team, but can only do so much.

  14. Jacksonville Jaguars (−9) — I may have gotten a little carried away with the Jaguars last week. Last week's biggest riser is this week's most significant sinker. Trevor Lawrence is finally connecting with Brian Thomas Jr., but the offense struggles in the red zone.

  15. Chicago Bears (+3) — The Bears won on a last-second field goal against the Commanders on Monday night, led by D’Andre Swift's 175 scrimmage yards. Chicago has stacked three straight games with 3+ takeaways, the longest active streak in the NFL.

  16. Los Angeles Chargers (−1) —Los Angeles sits 4–2 with a basically even point differential (127–125), riding a top-10 passing attack when healthy, but uneven protection and injuries have kept them from reaching their full potential. A narrow win against a bad Miami team isn't enough to move them up the list.

  17. Washington Commanders (−6) — The Commanders are putting up 26.3 points a game, but timely turnovers have killed them. Monday night was a prime example of that; they turned the ball over three times against the Bears.

  18. Atlanta Falcons (+4) — Bijan Robinson may be the best running back in the NFL. Feed him early, and the whole offense settles in. Play-action pops because defenses have to respect Bijan; clean up penalties, and they will contend for a playoff spot.

  19. Houston Texans (+1) — Before their week 6 bye, the Texans seemed to have corrected course after two blowout wins against the Titans and Ravens. A big test on Monday Night Football against the Seahawks will show if they can compete with stronger opponents.

  20. Carolina Panthers (+9) — Carolina is 3–3 and trending up after back-to-back wins, with Rico Dowdle erupting for a franchise-record 239 scrimmage yards in a 30–27 walk-off over Dallas; Bryce Young was 17-of-25 in that game. The last two weeks have featured balance and a revived ground game that’s carried them back to .500.

  21. Minnesota Vikings (−2) — Living on one-score chaos (again). The Vikings hit their Week 6 bye at 3–2, sitting third in the NFC North with 123 points scored and 97 allowed.

  22. Dallas Cowboys (−6) — The only team scoring and giving up 30 a game right now. The defense has no identity—missed tackles, busted coverages, and zero tone-setting when it matters.

  23. Baltimore Ravens (−2) — Baltimore hits the bye at 1–5 with a −50 point differential (144 PF, 194 PA), and the offense has managed just 13 total points over the last two games without Lamar Jackson (hamstring). Lamar is expected back on the field after the bye.

  24. Arizona Cardinals (0) — Arizona is 2–4 with a near-even score line (130–127), but has been terrible in the red zone. Shockingly, the Cardinals have been tied or leading inside 10 minutes in all six games.

  25. Las Vegas Raiders (0) — The Raiders are averaging 17.2 points a game on offense. The defense has been good, but not good enough to overcome the lack of offense.

  26. New York Giants (0) — The Giants kicked off Week 6 with a 34-17 upset over the Eagles on Thursday Night Football. They have appeared to have found their identity as a run-first team. Running for 172 yards and four rushing touchdowns.

  27. Cincinnati Bengals (0) — Totally different team without Joe Burrow. Joe Flacco should steady things in the interim, but it’s probably not enough to save the season.

  28. Cleveland Browns (0) — The defense still swings a hammer, but the QB carousel and third-and-long life keep breaking drives. Until they fix the turnovers, they’re stuck at the bottom of the list.

  29. Miami Dolphins (0) — Mike McDaniel’s seat is very hot right now. Miami is 1–5 and allowing 29.0 points per game, with a defense giving up nearly 390 yards a game.

  30. New Orleans Saints (+1) — New Orleans sits 1–5 with three one-score losses, including 25–19 vs. New England in Week 6. Spencer Rattler looked decent in the loss, going 20/26 and 227 yards.

  31. Tennessee Titans (-1) — The Titans were the first team to fire their coach, Brian Callahan. The offense has been terrible, and rookie Cam Ward has already been sacked 25 times.

  32. New York Jets (0) — Breaking news! The Jets finally forced a turnover, but it didn't help them in London as they dropped to 0-6 and remain the worst team in the league. The lone bright spot is the run game; 135 yards per game puts them in the top 5.
