Cardinals Look to Bounce Back after Blowout Loss to Seahawks

The Arizona Cardinals cannot take too much from last week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. They were outplayed and outclassed in every way, losing 44-22.

Jacoby Brissett actually played well, throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. However, he did lose two fumbles. He was also sacked five times. The two fumbles were both forced by Tyrice Knight and returned for touchdowns by DeMarcus Lawrence.

The Cardinals’ run game continues to be nonexistent. Emari Demercado was the lead back again, rushing for only 64 yards. Brissett had the next most rushing yards for the Cardinals, despite two other running backs getting carries in the game.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks had around 200 yards rushing and scored two rushing touchdowns. Sam Darnold only needed to attempt 12 passes, throwing for 178 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals are not a very good football team. They have lost six of their last seven games and sit at the bottom of the NFC West. Their win over the Cowboys in Primetime seems like a fluke the more you look at it. But flukes do happen in the NFL. The Cardinals will hope to pull another one off this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Niners are also coming off a difficult loss to the LA Rams. Mac Jones continued playing well, though, throwing for over 300 yards and three scores, plus one interception.

The Cardinals lost to the 49ers back in Week 2, but that was a low-scoring close game, finishing 16-15. There was only one touchdown per team, and it was decided by a last-second Eddy Pineiro field goal.

Prediction

This game will be different. The Niners are reeling after the blowout loss to the Rams, which doesn’t look so bad since the Rams are commonly viewed as one of the NFL’s best teams right now. The Cardinals, meanwhile, seem to be going through the motions. They have weaknesses all over the field, and a quarterback problem: Jacoby Brissett looks better under center than Kyler Murray did.

Divisional matchups are usually close, but both these teams just lost divisional matchups in not very close fashion. The Niners have too much firepower, even with some lingering injuries. They also have a slightly better defense, again despite injuries. The Cardinals are just waiting for the offseason at this point.

The meeting between these two teams in Week 3 was close. Their Week 11 matchup will not be.

49ers 38, Cardinals 13
