Dolphins vs. Ravens Week 9 Recap
The Baltimore Ravens travelled to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami to take on the Dolphins under the bright lights of Thursday Night Football last night. With both teams coming off arguably their biggest win of the season, and neither team wanting to fall to 2-6 or 2-7, the expectation was that both teams would come out fighting. However, only one team held up its end of the bargain.
The Ravens dominated the Dolphins, with the final score being 28-6. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson threw four passing touchdowns without a turnover in his first game back from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for three games (plus a bye week). Running back Derrick Henry also had 19 carries for 119 yards, finding consistent success bouncing to the outside and beating Miami defenders to the edge.
The Dolphins' offense failed to score a touchdown, managing only two field goals. Despite getting in the red zone three times, Miami did not score on any of those drives, which is honestly impressive. Those three drives ended with a fumble, a missed FG, and a turnover on downs, on a night where nothing seemed to go right. One bright spot for the Dolphins was tight end Greg Dulcich, who had five catches for 49 yards after not even having a target all year. He was the only tight end to get a target tonight, so he could potentially be fantasy relevant until Darren Waller returns.
After falling to 2-7, it is tough to find room for optimism around this Dolphins team. Coming out flat after building some momentum with a big win is crushing. Before the win against the Falcons on Sunday, the only win they collected was against the 1-7 Jets, and the schedule doesn’t get any easier. Next week, they get the Bills at home, and the following week, they travel to Madrid to play an international game against the Commanders. Divisional games are always weird, but it would not be surprising if the Dolphins find themselves at 2-9 heading into their bye week.
