Top 5 Most Satisfying Colts Wins from the past Decade

There were many good eras of the Colts that I, along with other fans, reminisce on frequently. Believe it or not, besides this season so far, it used to not be so bad being a Colts fan. A handful of games stand out as particularly memorable for a number of reasons, ranging from epic comebacks to unexpected wins against stiff competitors. Here are, in my opinion, the top 5 most satisfying Colts wins from the past decade.

I listed them chronologically because picking my favorite would be too hard.

1. Colts vs Packers – November 6th, 2016

To set the scene, the last time the Colts had won against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field was 1988. Andrew Luck threw for two touchdowns, Frank Gore led the ground game, and an interception late into the fourth quarter sealed the win. And like that, after almost 30 years, the streak had been broken! Colts 31, Packers 26

2. Colts vs Texans – January 5th, 2019

In this AFC Wildcard game, the Colts secured their first playoff dub since 2014. Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton brought the Colts to a 21-0 lead. Defense held the Texans to only one, bringing the final score to Colts 21, Texans 7. This victory put the Colts back on the radar as a postseason threat.

3. Colts vs Chiefs – October 6th, 2019

Fans walked into this game expecting an easy win for the Chiefs, but they were proven wrong. The Colts shocked Chiefs fans by limiting Patrick Mahomes to only one touchdown. Marlon Mack rushed for 132 yards, silencing a rowdy crowd. The Colts absolutely shut down the Chiefs, ending the game 19-13, showing people not to underestimate them.

4. Colts vs Chiefs – September 25th, 2022

The Colts trailed the Chiefs for almost the entirety of the game. It was the fourth quarter, and Colts fans had already surrendered the idea of a win until Matt Ryan connected with Jelani Woods for a touchdown to secure the lead. Then, the defense sealed the win with an interception in the final seconds. They closed out this game with a final score of Colts 20, Chiefs 17

5. Colts vs Patriots – December 1st, 2024

With only 12 seconds left in the game, quarterback Anthony Richardson threw a touchdown pass to Alec Pierce and followed with a game-saving 2-point conversion. The Colts ended up capping the game with a score of 25-24 over the New England Patriots. Fans saw this last-minute win as a turning point for the franchise.

What’s something every win listed has in common? The resilience shown by the Colts. We’ve never claimed to be the best, but we’ve proven ourselves capable of memorable victories time and time again. These wins are more than just victories; they’re memories that define an era of the Colts. If you think I missed anything, drop a comment below!
