Broncos Country Creates Viral Movement to Rally Behind Their New Quarterback in Hopes of a Super Bowl Berth
If you’ve been on Broncos X (Twitter), you may already be aware, but the #StiddyParty has officially begun. In an attempt to rally behind and show support for Denver’s new starting quarterback, Jarrett Stidham, members of Broncos Country far and wide have changed their Twitter profile pictures to a meme of Jarrett Stidham. Along with the meme came plenty of clever plays on words revolving around Stidham’s name. Some of my favorites include Stiddy Up, Stiddy City, and StidHIM. Shoutout to Gares (@999_Gares) for starting this iconic movement in anticipation of what could be one of the wildest finishes to a season in NFL history, as the Denver Broncos are set to host the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game!
“He’s Ready…Watch Out”
Broncos head coach Sean Payton has full confidence in Jarret Stidham and made it clear in Denver’s post-game presser as he warned the rest of the league that “He’s ready…Watch out”.
Payton is known league-wide as an offensive mastermind with zero tolerance for bad quarterback play, and he knows the importance of having a high-quality backup. Choosing Jarrett Stidham to be his No. 2 quarterback was an intentional decision. Not only was Stidham one of Payton’s first free-agent signings upon arriving in Denver, but he also decided to re-sign him to another 2-year deal ahead of the 2025-26 season. That alone speaks volumes about Payton’s confidence in his new starter.
While he was lucky enough to coach a Hall of Fame passer for the majority of his career in New Orleans, his 8-1 record with Drew Brees’ backup quarterbacks in the 2019 and 2020 seasons is impressive. Now, as the head coach of the Denver Broncos, it’s not a stretch to expect similar success, as Payton tailors this weekend’s game plan not only to hide Stidham’s deficiencies but also to maximize his strengths.
Stiddy Up
Jared Stidham has all the tools a quarterback needs to win games in the NFL. He has good size, a strong arm, and is capable of making plays with his legs. In the 2025 preseason, he put these skills on display, passing for 376 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 turnovers (according to NFL.com). His performance displayed great decision-making and a high level of execution in Sean Payton’s offense. Considering this, along with the fact that this is Stidham’s third season in Payton’s system, I don’t expect the Broncos offense to come out with the training wheels on. Be prepared for Stidham and company to come out pedal to the metal, aggressive, and fearless when attacking New England’s strong defense.
No Pressure
After losing Bo Nix to a fractured ankle in the divisional round, his replacement, Jarrett Stidham, finds himself in a seemingly impossible situation, but could the Broncos use this to their advantage?
Win the first game he’s started in two years and punch a ticket to Super Bowl 60. Lose, and this game will become a faint bullet point in Broncos’ history.
The way I see it, the Broncos have everything to gain and nothing to lose. In a game that decides who will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, I hope Denver plays fast, free, and instinctual. If they can evade the pressure that typically comes from a game of this magnitude and flip that pressure onto the Patriots, while rallying around Stidham, they can make a push for the 9th Super Bowl appearance in the Broncos’ franchise history.
As crazy as Super Bowl MVP Jarrett Stidham sounds, it is a real possibility. In hopes of that becoming a reality, I leave all of Broncos Country with this parting message:
It’s Stiddy Time, baby!
