Bills Travel to Denver for Broncos Challenge After Wild Card Triumph

The Buffalo Bills had a back-and-forth game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and now must turn around and face off against the AFC’s number 1 seed, the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos are well-rested and one of the best teams, not just in the AFC, but in the NFL as a whole.

At this point, though, every team that is left is one of the best in the league. The Bills also dealt with the red-hot Jags in Jacksonville, so they should have some confidence heading into Denver.

The Broncos have only lost one game since Week 3, though. That loss was to the Jaguars, so the Bills, who beat the Jaguars, should feel confident about beating the Broncos. Except that the NFL does not work like that. Especially in the playoffs. All bets and regular-season stats are off the table.

The Broncos are flying high, led by Bo Nix and a standout defense that has held opponents under 25 points 11 times this season.

Nix has thrown for almost 4,000 yards this season, with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Josh Allen’s season stats are similar. He also threw for almost 4,000 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

These two superstar quarterbacks will have a legendary battle on Saturday. Both defenses are good, but with these quarterbacks leading the way, the offense is sure to win the game.

The Jaguars game was not as high scoring as many people thought it would be, but the offenses came alive in the fourth quarter and put on a show. Something similar might happen in this matchup, especially since the Broncos’ defense is arguably better than the Jaguars’ defense.

But eventually, Bo Nix and Superman Josh Allen will take over. The fourth quarter will likely resemble the fourth quarter of the Jags game, with both teams trading touchdowns as their star quarterbacks lead scoring drive after scoring drive.

One question for both teams is the run game. The defenses will be locked in on the quarterbacks, so which running back is going to make an impact?

James Cook was anonymous against the Jaguars, so he will need a bounce-back performance to give the Bills a better chance to win.

RJ Harvey, on the Broncos’ side, has also been ineffective lately, so he will need a good performance as well.

Both quarterbacks can run. Nix and Allen are often the leading rushers for their teams in a game, but getting the running backs involved and playing well may prove to be an underrated key to victory.

Prediction

This game will be decided by a game-winning drive, just like the Wild Card game. It will likely start slow, but not as slow as the Wild Card. The fourth quarter will be intense and back-and-forth. Josh Allen will probably put his body on the line again and rush for a touchdown or two. The Broncos are the favorites, barely, but the Bills have what it takes to win. This is their chance at a long-elusive Super Bowl. They won’t let that chance slip.
