Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens Will Go on a Super Bowl Run in 2025, and Here’s Why

Lamar Jackson is known for his elusiveness, exciting play, and regular-season success. He became the youngest quarterback to win the NFL MVP in 2019 at age 22 and won the award again in 2023. Jackson also holds the single-season rushing record for a quarterback with 1,206 yards and is the NFL’s all-time leading rushing quarterback with 6,173 yards. With these accomplishments in just eight seasons, many believe he is already a lock for the Hall of Fame. However, instead of constant praise, Jackson is often questioned because he has not matched his regular-season success in the playoffs.

In eight playoff games, Jackson has a 3-5 record with 1,701 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and six interceptions. Even Jackson would admit he can perform better than that. For context, in 17 games last season, he threw only four interceptions.

The Ravens could have a different outcome this season thanks to new veteran additions. This past offseason, Baltimore added All-Pro players and possible future Hall of Famers DeAndre Hopkins and Jaire Alexander. Both are established stars, but neither has won a Super Bowl, which makes them hungry for success.

The Ravens already have a strong wide receiver group with Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, along with a solid tight end duo in Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely. Hopkins adds another big weapon for Jackson and brings veteran leadership to the offense.

"I think it's progressed well. You know, we're building the chemistry on and off the field in the locker room, talking about things. So, I think it's going well," Hopkins said about his connection with Jackson. "Just trust, you know, and obviously me going out and showing him that he can trust me. With that comes reps and doing it over and over. Sometimes you don't look open, but it's on the receiver to make it right." On the upcoming season, Hopkins added, "I think we're definitely present and in what we're doing and not looking forward. That's trying to win games for the Ravens right now."

The Ravens also added key pieces in the draft on both sides of the ball, and a few of them showed sparks in their preseason opener. Malaki Starks and Mike Green have been the most anticipated rookies. Starks’ time was limited in his debut, and he was not targeted when on the field. Green recorded several quarterback pressures, showing he could be a feared pass rusher. The team may have also found its next return specialist in Lahjontay Wester, who has been mentored by Devin Hester and his former coach at Colorado, Deion Sanders . Wester scored an 87-yard punt return in his debut.

If Jackson and this talented Ravens squad can get their flow going like they usually do in the regular season and maintain that same energy in the postseason, they are definitely a force to be reckoned with.
